Ein Tribute-Album ist ein Musikalbum, das meist Coverversionen von Titeln eines bestimmten Musikers oder einer bestimmten Band enthält, es kann sich aber auch um Songs über den Musiker bzw. die Band handeln. Häufig hat sich die Band zum Zeitpunkt des Tribute-Albums aufgelöst. Die Erlöse werden oft einem guten Zweck zugeführt. Abgesehen von wenigen Vorläufern soll das erste Tribute-Album nicht früher als 1981 mit Armacord zu Nino Rotas Musik erschienen sein.
