Bandgeschichte
The Zutons gründen sich 2001, der Bandname ist an den Gitarristen der Magic Band, Zoot Horn, angelehnt. Die Bandmitglieder hatten zuvor in anderen Bands gespielt, Abi Harding kommt erst später als Saxophonistin hinzu. Nach einer ersten Single 2002 erscheint 2004 das Debütalbum "Who Killed The Zutons?", das von Ian Broudie produziert wird. Es erreicht die britische Top 10 und wird für den Mercury Music Prize nominiert. 2006 folgt das zweite Album "Tired Of Hanging Around", diesmal produziert von Stephen Street. Das Album gelangt auf Platz 2 der Charts und bringt zwei Top 10-Singles hervor. 2007 steigt Gitarrist Boyan Chowdury aufgrund "musikalischer Differenzen" aus, um seine neue Band The Gravity Trap zu gründen. Die Band im selben Jahr einen indirekten kommerziellen Erfolg verbuchen, da die Coverversion von Valerie von Amy Winehouse und Mark Ronson ein internationaler Hit wird. 2008 folgt das dritte Album der Band "You Can Do Anything", produziert diesmal von George Drakoulias. Jedoch hält sich der Erfolg in Grenzen und nachdem die letzte Albumsingle nicht mal in die Charts gelangt, wird die Band von Sony gedroppt.
