In einer Sonderedition erschienene, vom Rolling Stone zusammengestellte Liste der besten 500 Alben aller Zeiten, veröffentlicht am 18. November 2003. Die Liste wurde 2005 in leicht veränderter Form auch als Buch veröffentlicht. 2004 veröffentlichte der deutsche Rolling Stone ein ähnliche Liste, die auch mehr deutsche Künstler berücksichtigte.
