Alkohole sind organische Verbindungen die eine Hydroxyl-Gruppe enthalten. Da die meisten Alkohole giftig sind, wird zum Trinken meist Ethanol (C2-H5-OH) genutzt. Beispielsweise in Bier, Gin Tonic, Vodka, Wein, oder Cuba Libre.
Der Begriff Alkohol kommt übrigens aus der spanischen Alchemistensprache.
