Bandgeschichte
Nach dem Ende von Simian arbeiten James Ford und James Shaw als Simian Mobile Disco als DJ-Team. Bei einem Remix-Wettbewerb zu Never Be Alone von Simian gelingt den Franzosen Justice mit ihrer Version (die als We Are Your Friends bekannt wird) ein Clubklassiker. Mit diesem Erfolg im Rücken veröffentlichen Ford und Shaw Remixe und betätigen sich als Produzenten. Auch Singles werden vereinzelt bei verschiedenen Labels herausgebracht, die Namen der geremixten Bands werden größer und Fords Tätigkeit als Produzent für die Klaxons und die Arctic Monkeys zieht die Aufmerksamkeit noch mehr auf das Duo. Die Single Hustler wird 2006 ein kleiner Hit und Wichita signt die Band. 2007 treten sie zum ersten Mal live auf und veröffentlicht im Juni desselben Jahres ihr Debütalbum "Attack Decay Sustain Release", das von Kritikern begeistert aufgenommen wird. 2009 erscheint das zweite Album "Temporary Pleasure", auf dem sich eine große Anzahl an Kollaborationen mit bekannten Künstlern wie Gruff Rhys und Beth Ditto befinden.
