Bandgeschichte
Ocean Colour Scene entstanden aus den Birminghamer Bands The Boys und The Fanatics. Obwohl OCS schon in den frühen 90er Jahren tätig war, schafften sie erst mit dem zweiten Album während des Brit-Pop-Booms auf sich aufmerksam zu machen und verkauften dank Unterstützung von Oasis und Paul Weller (dessen Backing Band sie vor dem Durchbruch waren) über 1 Million Exemplare des Zweitwerks "Moseley Shoals" und erreichten sechsmal in Folge die UK-Single-Top10 mit Auskopplung aus "Moseley Shoals" und "Marchin' Already" (ihrem einzigen Nummer 1 Album).
Mit Abebben der Brit-Pop-Begeisterung blieb jedoch auch Ocean Colours Massenappeal auf der Strecke. Obwohl OCS weiterhin Platten veröffentlichten, verringerte sich der Erfolg von Release zu Release.
